IV - Pages

(Note: You can follow the steps below or watch the short video below the steps.)

6. What you don't see are your other Pages for your site. Time to tackle your Pages to add some muscle to your site. Click the tab in your browser that says "Blogger..." to go back to authoring your teacher Web site, then click "Layout" on the Dashboard.

7. Layout shows you the overall structure of your sites layout. Click the "Edit" link on the Pages part of your Layout.

8. In the Configure Page List box that pops up, check the box next to all the Pages to show them all, then click the "Save" button.

9. Click the tab in your browser that has the browsing view of your site or click the "View blog" button to see your site as students and parents will see it. Now you see your Pages!

10. You are going to modify your first Page to change it from "Spartan Calendar" to an "About Me" page. On your Blogger Dashboard, click Pages and then the name of the Page "Spartan Calendar" (or the "Edit" link below the name).

11. Change the Page title from "Spartan Calendar" to "About Me."

12. Click the "HTML" button to see the code that creates this page. You will see a link to a calendar we don't want--delete all of this HTML code. Later you will learn how to embed things like a calendar (and other HTML, if you want to bother with HTML).

13. Click the ''Compose" button to go back to regular Page composition mode. In the white space below, compose a short message that introduces yourself to your students and parents. When you are done, be sure to click "Update."

14. Click the tab in your browser that has the browsing view of your site or click the "View blog" button to see your site as students and parents will see it. Now you see your "About Me" Page by clicking the tab at the top of your site.

Now that you are done creating your first Post and Pages, read this review of what you learned to make sure you can carry this forward and grow your teacher Web site effectively.

(If you are not ready to move on, you can go back a page by clicking the back button in your browser or clicking here.)
